DVD Package

The DVD package contains everything you need to take control of your asthma. Contained within the pack are a DVD, CD and 64-page handbook – these give comprehensive instructions on learning and practising the breathing exercises.

The DVD

The 55 minute DVD is presented by Dr James Oliver and Janet Brindley. It provides the following:

  • A general introduction to the Buteyko method
  • How you can reduce your asthma symptoms
  • Detailed information on learning the exercises
  • Practical demonstrations of the exercises
  • Success stories from real patients

The DVD is divided into seven sections allowing repeated viewing of topics of interest.

Summary of the exercises

The CD

The CD provides an easy relaxing guide to the exercises. The tracks on the CD talk you through two full Buteyko sets:

  • Set A (for practice during the first week) and
  • Set B (for practice during the second week and beyond)

The Handbook

The 64-page handbook accompanies the DVD and CD and provides additional information to help you learn and practise Buteyko. The handbook contains clear explanations and detailed instructions on how to be successful with the Buteyko method, as well as general advice, including:

  • Top tips for dealing with exercise-induced asthma
  • The importance of a balanced diet
  • The different types of asthma medication, and how to reduce medication safely

The handbook also provides record sheets to note your progress.
