Let’s face it. Even the most focused of individuals will be confused with the sheer number of providers offering mobile phone contracts across the UK. The number is too huge that it has become virtually impossible to ascertain which one offers the best services and which is simply out to romp in customers. Considering that most people have tight budgets, it’s instructive that proper measures are taken to save as much as possible. Finding the right provider for mobile phone contracts is not all about getting the best perks but also the best prices. It’s not about the biggest name within your locality but rather how beneficial their services are.

Having said that, it’s good to choose your provider from an informed standpoint. Getting the right provider is the difference between getting the right deal and getting a bad deal. So why is it important?

  • You get to learn of the available deals

A popular adage has it that you don’t travel wide enough, you might always have the perception that your mothers cooking is the best. Same applies when you are seeking for a mobile phone contract. If you don’t check out the deals offered by other providers, you might be under the impression that your current provider offers the best deal. By comparing providers, you get to learn of their packages, their deals and how they generally structure their plans. From this information, you can make up your mind on which among the many providers would you provide you the best plan according to your needs.

  • You get to avoid phony providers

There is no denying that not every provider in the market is transparent and ascribes to the highest levels of ethical practices. Making a decision from an ignorant point of view or simply because you have been lured with outstanding offers could be your undoing. In fact, phony providers are the ones who offer unrealistic offers and hence the need to avoid them at all costs. Comparing providers makes it easy for you to draw a clear line of demarcation between credible and phony providers. You then get to shortlist the best ones and negotiate your contract with any one of them.

  • You get to negotiate from a position of strength

On comparing providers, you get access to valuable information each of them. This is of course a great weapon as you can negotiate for a better from your provider of preference citing what other providers offer. On the other hand, if you are clueless on what other providers offer, it becomes difficult to argue a case for yourself as you do not have any facts to back up your argument.

  • You get to go for a contract within your budget

We all have a budget we don’t want to go beyond. Different providers have different pricing plans and sometimes it becomes difficult to find one that meets your own budget. By comparing providers, you get to do business with one that meets your budget. The good thing about that is it helps you not to strain your finances or to default on monthly payments.

Going for a cell phone plan has become a way of life for most people across the UK. In fact, people sometimes find the hassle of having to top up every time they want to make a phone call or browse on the internet cumbersome. The logical thing has been for them to go for a mobile cell phone plan. The question is how to get a cell phone plan that fits their budget and which offers them the best perks.

Before going for any cell phone plan, it’s important that you conduct due diligence and get into business with a given provider from an informed platform. Don’t fall for the marketing gimmick of various companies that claim to offer unlimited data bundles, unlimited minutes or unlimited talk time. More often than not, there is always something hidden in between and hence the need to do due diligence.

To get the best plans or deals with the right providers, you need to ask yourself a couple of questions.

  • Is the plan in question contractual or non contractual

This is a very serious question you need to ask yourself especially considering that people have different circumstances and financial strength. For instance, a contractual plan might tie you to a given provider for say 2 years and this could spell doom for you especially if something happens in the near future that makes it impossible for you to pay your bills. Cancellation of a contract always attracts high fees and therefore it is important that you make your decision on the kind of contract you want carefully. If you feel like contractual plans might cause problems for you in the near future, it’s essential to go for any of the providers that offer no contract plans. Of course the good thing about the no contract plans is that should things not go as planned, you can always cancel the contract at no cost at all.

  • Are you really in need of a brand new phone?

If not, why go for a mobile phone contract that comes with a new phone. There is no denying that the majority of people go for mobile phone contracts simply because of the promise of a new phone. While initially the provider states that the new phone comes free with the contract, the truth of the matter is that you always end up paying for the phone in your billing of the contract. If you are not in need of a new phone, why not go for a SIM only plan which is relatively cheaper as compared to a mobile phone contract. At the end of the day, it’s all about getting a cheaper deal without incurring extra costs.

  • Do you have a budget for the plan you are eyeing

A number of people find themselves going for expensive plans simply because they want to fit in or own the latest high end phone. Of course, this can get you into financial problems especially when you face difficulties making payments on a monthly basis. You need to ascertain whether you have the right budget and whether you can afford a given phone plan. Otherwise, you will just be setting up yourself for difficult times ahead!

How I went about getting my first mobile phone contract

For a long time, I had read about mobile phone contracts and wanted to also jump into the bandwagon and experience the many wondrous benefits I had been told. The difficult decision was of course finding the right mobile phone contract provider considering the fact that this was something that was new to me. With no prior experience, the first thing I did was going online and find a bit of information on various mobile phone contract providers within my locality. However, there were tons of information and attractive offers that I was virtually confused.

It is then that I landed on a comparison site. For those who don’t know, a mobile comparison site is the kind that provides specific details of the various deals that different providers offer. You can simply filter through to find providers based on contractual periods, handset types, and number of minutes and so on and so forth. This was indeed an eye opening experience as I was able to learn so much more in a short span of time. Once I had shortlisted at least 5 providers, it was time to get down to knowing more about them and the deals they offered on mobile phone contracts.

The next thing to do was to read a number of reviews left by customers who had done business with them. Short listing the 5 to at least 3 was dependent on how attractive their offers were as well as how satisfied customers who had initially done business with them were. I spent an hour or so reading reviews and in the end I reduced my shortlist to three. At this point I needed something more than what the reviews said. I needed a personal recommendation from a friend or family member who had done business with either of the three I had shortlisted. Luckily for me, a family member gave me glowing recommendation on one of the shortlist.

However this was not enough and I needed to at least find out for myself. So I contacted their customer care and true to her word they were simply courteous, professional and out of this world. I asked all the questions I could think of and the answers were satisfactory. I was also able to get myself a discount of sorts for myself as I had tons of information that I used to back up my request for a discount on the particular plan I wanted. After reading their fine print and ascertaining that they were okay, I put pen to paper and go myself approved for the first ever mobile phone contract!

Comparing Mobile Phone Plans-What You Need To Know

One thing we can all agree is that mobile phones are a necessity in our lives. In fact, it’s virtually impossible to imagine a person without a cell phone in this time and age. Mobile phones have become more like a basic thing to have. We use them to connect with friends, find information online, shop, and send business emails, for directions and many other things. In this regard, going for a cell phone plan has become a way of life for people all over the UK. The challenge that many people face is in comparing various mobile phone plans.

Gone are the days when people bought into mobile phone plans blindly. The internet has made it possible for people to get valuable information about different providers based on their deals and packages. You no longer need to blindly buy into a mobile phone plan. The idea is to go for an affordable plan that offers the best benefits for you. We are going to look at a number of ways in which you can ensure that you get the best deals through comparing providers. Of course, the best thing to do would be to focus on the specific features within given packages of various providers. To get the most affordable deals, look into the following:

  • Cost of the internet bundles

Do not just be contended with the fact that you will be receiving a number of bundles in a given month. Find out the amount of money you will be paying for say 1GB in a month. Consequently, find out the connection or speed of the same bundles. You definitely do want to be tied to a contract where the speed of your internet bundles is so slow that you end wasting a lot of time. Is there a threshold which if you reach the speed is drastically reduced? These are questions you need to ask before buying into any plan.

  • Find out the exact price per call for each plan

When comparing different plans, ascertain how much each call per minute costs. This will help you find out a plan that offers the cheapest and most affordable rates. Find out the rate for calling within your network as well as the rate for calling other networks. Typically, the lower the rate you pay per minute, the better the plan is for you. You also need to take into consideration the number of minutes you are allocated in a month and find out if it fits your needs.

  • Cost of the text messages

If you are not the kind of person who texts a lot, it might be wise to go for a plan with less text messages and more call minutes. At the end of the day, it would be stupid for you to end up paying for something you rarely use. That would be wastage of money. Compare a number of plans and go for one that best suits you in tandem to your needs.

  • Total cost of the mobile handset

You need to find out the exact cost of the mobile handset you are being offered and compare with the actual cost you will pay in the contract. Typically, the longer you are committed to a contract, the lower the fee you will pay monthly. However, the overall cost is always higher. Make a comparison of various plans and go for one where the overall cost is slightly lower.

  • Penalty for changing plan or quitting

This is very important when going for a mobile phone plan. You need to be aware of the penalty fees a given plan applies in the event that you want to change the plan or quit it altogether.

All the aforementioned play a very key role when comparing plans and ensures that the plan you settle for meets your needs.
